MISSIONS TO SEAMEN.
Tho popular weekly concerts, which had boon suspended in consequence of tho Penguin disaster, wero continued last night, when Mr. and Mrs. G. Denton provided a delightful entertainment, Mr. James Moore, tho missionor, occupiod tho chair, and delivered a temperance address. Six moil took the pledge of total abstinence. An amusing conundrum competition was held, and won by sailors from ships in port. Several wellknown choruses wero sung by the largo audience under the leadership of tho missioner. Mr. Harrowby, who was responsible for tho musical arrangements, presented an attractive programme. The following contributed items: —Pianoforte solo, Mrs. Proctor; recitation, Miss F. Dix; song, Mr. D. Frazer; song, Miss A. Harrowby; recitation, Miss Graham; pianoforte solo, Miss Grix; song, Mr. Proctor; recitation, Miss M. Dix; song, Mr. Harrowby. Mrs. Proctor and Miss Grix acted as accompanists. Hearty cheers were Kiven for tho host and hostess and tho performers. Light refreshments wero handed round.
