LAKE WANAKA.
(We do not identify ourselves with the opinions expressed by our correspondents).
TO THE EDITOR. Sir.—ln referring to the " new boat " for Lake Wanaka, a corresponponclent in the Dunedin "Star"asserts that the present service on the lake is satisfactory. This is not the opinion of settlers interested. They want regularity in the weekly trips, and object to a boat being behind time, when caused by too much economy. The navigation of the lake warrants the master in charge being a "seaman." With a reliable boat service, the lake trade would improve. Why are the fares on the Lake trip not advertised ?. Wishing success to the new boat. I am, etc.. Progress.
