Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd., report for week ending 17th August as follows. —

Rabbitskins: —We held our usual weekly auction sale on Monday the 15th instant when we offered a large and representative catalogue to a full attendance of buyers. Bidding was very brisk and a most satisfactory sale resulted. Prime winter's both bucks and does were well competed for and we again topped the market with the satisfactory price of

d'OJd per lb. All medium grade skins showed a rise of fully one penny per lb, but low grade and off season's skins showed a slight decline. Sheepskins : —-The usual weekly sale was held on Tuesday the 16th instant when small sized catalogues were offered. There was a full attendance of buyers who bid with spirit on every lot offered and a most satisfactory clearance was made. Prices although firm cannot be quoted higher than last week's results. The following are quotations: —Full wools halfbred B|d to 9|d, fine crossbred 7fd to S.UI, crossbred to 7£d, merino 6£d to 7fd, half wools halfbred 7id to B.UI, fine crossbred 7d to 7Ad, cross bred Gjd to 7d. merino ssd to 6£d, quarter wools halfbred 6d to 7\d, crossbred 5Ad to Gd, pelts crossbred dd to sd, merino 2£d to UA. Stronach, Morris and Co. Ltd., report foj» week ending 17th August as follows.— Fat Sheep :—There was a medium yarding of 2185. Prices for heavy wethers were much about the same as last week but medium weight wethers aud ewes were slightly easier. Best wethers 18s (3d to 21s, extra heavy to 21s, best ewes to ISs (3d, medium to good lls to 16s (id, light lls (id to 12s (3d. Fat Lambs :—Only 35(5 were yarded. Wheat:—Owing to reports from outside markets there is a little better demand locally although prices do not show any change. Quotations : Prime milling :3s lOd to Is. Bed wheat :3s 7d to :3s Bd, medium to good :3s od to :3s <sd, best whole fowl wheat :3s 2d to :3s Id medium 2s !)d to :3s, broken and damaged 2s :id to 2s Sd per bushel (sacks extra.) Chaff:—There is a large quantity coming forward and as the demand is not keen lower prices have to be accepted to quit. Medium quality is not enquired for.
