THE NEWEST HATS.

COLOR CLASHES AND NO SHAPE. Despite the ridicule heaped on the Futurist painters when they gave ail exhibition recently of their canvases, apparently they have conquered the Parisienne, for it is announced that one of tho most striking features of the coming spring will be Futurist bats. These will be of no particular shape or form, but some promised color combinations are almost too daring to bdlieve. For instance, with a hat made of Picot straw, Leghorn or horsehair we shall see mandarin and bright blue, cerise and indigo blue, and emerald green combined with Spanish yellow. One specially daring creation shows four colors on the same hat—red, violet, green and yellow. Among the favorite shades will be bishop's purple, bright yellow, and letter-box red. Fruit and flowers will come hack to favor as trimmings, and the apple in all shades of green, red and yellow will be held in special honor by the daughters of Eve. A chic spring model is a black hat with two apples, one green and the other vellow. Plums, cherries and peaches will also be used by the milliners. Ribbons, which were banned from women's hats last year at the same time as flowers, will come into their own again for decorative purposes.
