TALKING FILMS.

Mr Edison's latest invention, a talking cinematograph, in whicfh sounds from a phonograph behind the screen are produced m unison with the movements of the picture, was demonstrated lately at Mr Edison's laboratory in New York. Seven- films exhibited. One showed a lecturer advancing to the front of a stage and describing in a Rood voice the invention, which is to be called the "Kinetophone." Tests were made to establish his assertion of synchronism between sounds and movements. The lecture] 1 dashed a piece 0 f china to the floor, the sound of the crash being reproduced simultaneously.
