Tlio selectors (Messrs Tlislop, Richardson and Edwards) have picked the following team to represent South (Hugo :—Full-buck. A. (iood (Toko); tli'ree-(|ua«vlers., Reid (TokH), To?)in (Owaka), f.ossage (Stirling) ; liveeighths, (!. Lane (Toko.). Tlayden (Halel utha) ; half, Hugh is ; fonwards. The team is a fairly good one, and thoroughly representative. The forwards are not a fast set, but every member lias during the season given good exhibitions, and in tiirVit work and rush starting should be able to hold their own. Reid is the only buck with any pretence to brilliancy, but they are a solid lot, who will be stronger in defence than attack, while they all have kicking powers which should wear down their opposing forwards. The team will travel to (low next Tuesday to play Eastern Districts the following day. A match is to be played against Tuapoka at Balclutha. but the date is not yet arranged. Stirling and Balclutha meet at Balclutha to-morrow. The game should prove a good one to watch, and the redoubtable Black-und-whites will have to go for it if they are to pull the match off. Balclutha will put on u strong team, and Stirling will bo represented by the following :—W. Henderaoa; Cucraj), Henderson, Hair Gos-

sage, _ Milne, Bnird ; Alexander, Barron !-), llislop 12J, Frnscr mid Iloulistou.
