A short address, a .Scotch'' leading, and parlour games made up a pleasant evening. Mrs Cornish, «ith a band of willing assistants dispensed rehshments. Yates who has been a u«ulul aii I energetic resident of Kaitangatu tor some years, ~nd who is leaving for Invcrcnrgill, was at the close ot the service in the Anglican Church cu Sunday evening, presented with a handsomely bound volume of Tennyson's poems, and a large book of common prayer. On Monday evening Mr Yates' fellow employees in McOruer Taylor and' Co's prcscnte | him with a fine dressing case suitable inscribed. Mr Y'ntes, in nckimwlodgi-ng s(poke of the harmony and good feeling that had always existed between them, and hoped it would continue with their new manager, Mr McFadyen.
