BALCLUTHA v. GORE. The Gore Club visited the Balclutha Club on Wednesday, and gave the local team their biggest defeat of the season, winning by 32 games. The weather was perfect, and the afternoon passed off pleasantly, a large number of visitors attending to witness the games. In the Men's Singles Bulelutha led -12—30, four men winning their games. Of course, the event of the day was the single between Bunten (Clutha's lirst man) and l)u Cms, the Gore champion. Victory rested with the former 9—6, after an excellent exhibition, in which the main features were liunten's serving and volleying from mid-court and Du Cros' line back-hand drives. In the Men's Doubles Gore won the three games, and won the four in the combined. This was where the visiting team got their big lead, their combination excelling Balclutha's. The local ladies lost the Singles by 7 games and their Doubles by 3 games.
