Government action
Sir,—Last night I heard the Deputy Prime Minister say that she could not force the amalgamation of the waterside and harbour workers’ unions because she did not have the power. Why can her Government riot display the same resolve and initiative that it displayed when it pushed through the legislation to award members of Parliament their last wage increase and their monumental superannuation scheme? — Yours, etc., T. C. BERRIDGE. October 19, 1989.
