Aria contest winner
A Hamilton woman has won the “New Zealand Herald” aria competition. Patricia Hughes, aged 27, sang arias by Verdi and Gluck to take the first prize of $2750 from eight other finalists at the Auckland Grammar School Centennial Theatre. — PA.
