N.Z. wins squash
PA Hamilton New Zealand became the first of the top four nations at the world junior women’s squash championships to drop a match last night. After the first two New Zealanders, Lynora Hati and Nita Pearson, had beaten their Scottish opponents in three sets, the Scottish No. 3, Emma Donaldson, overpowered Leilani Marsh in a four-setter lasting 38 minutes. Donaldson beat March 97, 9-5, 6-9, 9-5. However, despite Marsh losing her match, New Zealand remains unbeaten in teams’ play, with the top teams due to meet tonight. The home country has a real test in the form of the top seed, England. England played a near full-strength line up against the lowest ranked country, the United States, winning 3-0. Australia beat Ireland 3-0 and West Germany beat Canada 3-0.
