Trissaring in fine fettle
Awapuni correspondent Trissaring makes a fresh start in the Byerley Stakes at Hastings on Saturday and she looked in fine fettle to resume when she galloped in her best style at Awapuni yesterday morning.
Trissaring has done plenty of work and her class will ensure a big effort in one of the first day features at Hawke’s Bay. Working on the course proper, which was in good order though not particularly fast, Trissaring left 1200 m behind in 1:20, the last 600 m in 39.6. She finished full of running and David Walsh will ride her at the week-end. Hinekaha worked well in preparation for the Cavanagh Stakes. She left 800 m behind in 51, the last 600 m in 37. She did not run at Wanganui on account of the. wet ground. She is forward and could go
the fillies this week. Foreign Coin and Dizzley covered 600 m in 38 and finished together. Foreign Coin has come up well for a fresh campaign, while Dizzley looks set for an early maiden success.
Our Mzuri and In Charge ran the last 600 m of their work in 38.6. Our Mzuri is in good order for a fresh start at Taranaki tomorrow but will need reasonably firm ground. Zamaliza, another racing at New Plymouth, worked well with Simply Swift over 1000 m in 1:8, the last 600 m in 38.6.
Mambrino Boy and Sonolia both impressed when running 1000 m in 1;6, the last 600 m in 38. Mambrino Boy has disappointed lately but could easily make amends at Taranaki tomorrow. Sonolia, an impressive first-up winner last month, could repeat at Hastings on Saturday.
Resounding and Centuria took their time over 800 m in 54.6 the last 600 m in 39.6. Centuria, an impressive trials winner at Foxton, makes her debut at Hastings on Saturday, while Resounding will commence a fresh campaign there as well.
Crackajack Lad and Glitz completed 1000 m in 1:8, the last 600 m in 40. They race at Hastings, Glitz on the first day and Crackajack Lad on the second.
Centime and Springboard were not pressed to run 1000 m in 1:9 the last 600 m in 40.6. Centime is all set to resume in the Hawke’s Bay Guineas next week.
