Lane’s branches out
Lane’s Industries, a specialist garden products and indoor plant hire company taken over by Brierley Investment in November last year, has acquired a similar company in Vancouver. Lane's managing director, Mr Tony McGrath, said Lane’s intends to use Van Herricks Plantscapes as a means of expanding into the rest of North America. Lane’s would concentrate on its Brewsters Indoor Plants Service, Watkins Home and Garden Products, and Palmers Gardenworld retail chain. It had recently sold 126 ha of kiwifruit orchards and 87ha of apple orchards in the Bay of Plenty, Hawke’s Bay, and Northland.
