Hanson qualifies
It was an excited Tracey Hanson who rang her parents this week to say she had qualified for the United States national women’s amateur golf tournament. Hanson, a 22-year-old Wellingtonian, shot a 75 on the Springfield course in Boston, well clear of the cutoff mark of 79. The New Zealand strokeplay champion will be among 144 players at the national tournament, starting at Pinehurst in North Carolina on July 31.—PA.
