Japan earns draw
The Japanese women’s hockey team fought its way back to a 2-2 draw against Northland at the Rosvall Stadium here yesterday. Northland went into the break with a handy two-goal lead after excellent field goals to Jenny Shepherd and Jane Ward in the first 10 minutes. Japan's penalty corner machine came into its own in the second spell and Northland had no answer to the finishing shots of the centre forward, Hioayo Takahashi, who scored both goals and played a key role in her side’s comeback.—PA.
