Damage by lion
Sir,—As the person involved, I react with disgust to J. Gilbert’s ungenerous letter (July 15). His seeming concern for the safety of me and my family is revolting sarcasm in the circumstances. It was perfectly natural for me to try to locate the piece missing from the spoiler. It is daft to suggest that I would then have taken any risk. In fact, the piece has been returned to me by Orana Park. I can now try to repair the spoiler. I cannot afford to buy a new spoiler just as a matter of course. By the way, the Orana Park people could not have been more helpful.—Yours, etc. S. D. MCKENZIE. July 15, 1989.
