Labour Party
Sir,—“United front . is Labour’s aim — Dyson.” There can be nothing united about the Labour Party. The promised "improved relationship,” with “consultation” between party and parliamentarians, is a pipe dream. The Backbone Club canf
not be lightly dismissed while it rejects conference policy. Roger Douglas can stump the country scolding his Prime Minister with impunity, while Jim Anderton was sent to Coventry for playing within the rules. There would have been no New Labour Party had State-owned enterprises not been offered for sale against party policy. Ruth Dyson owes her position to the Backbone Club’s Richard Prebble, who came into our.,. electorate,' insulted our branch' by bringing his own chairperson and excluded the media to. insure a nationwide false account'bf the meeting. The egg-throwing- incident was so serendipitous for Ms Dyson and the Backbone Club that it might have been orchestrated, like a deliberate foul in basketball. — Yours, etc., VARIAN J. WILSON.
