Executive resigns
Jim Lonergan, who was appointed as the first executive director of the New Zealand Hockey Federation last October has resigned. Mr Lonergan was appointed to administer the federation formed last November by the amalgamation of the former men’s and women’s associations. The chairman of the federation, Mr David Appleby, announced the resignation yesterday but said the break was on amicable terms. Ramesh Patel, the federation’s coaching director, will replace Mr Lonergan and Corinne Pritchard, a member of the board has been appointed as office administrator.
