Maradona to stay
NZPA-Reuter Naples Diego Maradona, who last week was involved in a row over his future at Napoli, says he will stay with the Italian first division club until his contract ended in 1993. In an interview for Italian television, Argentina’s World Cup captain said: “I won’t leave Naples before 1993.” Maradona recorded the interview just before he flew to West Germany for the second leg of the U.E.F.A. Cup Final against Vfß Stuttgart today. Napoli won the first leg 2-1. Maradona had told Italian television he might leave the club after losing the support of the chairman, Corrado Ferlaino.
