Police for Namibia
Sir, —We have an acknowledged shortage of police on active duty in New Zealand. In many areas the staffing problems border on the critical. Police commanders around the country have been requesting additional staff for many years now. So why are we sending 32 active police members to Namibia? Apparently a request from the United Nations carries far more weight with the current Government than do our law and order requirements. — Yours, etc. ANDREW GRANT. April 6, 1989.
