Millwall to tour N.Z.
Wellington English first division soccer surprise packets Millwall will tour New Zealand this winter. All White coach, John Adshead, a representative of Auckland sports marketing group Global, is finalising the short visit while in England this week-end preparing New Zealand’s squad for next Sunday’s international against Israel. Adshead is reluctant to release details of the off-season tour by the team that has confounded critics by charging to a current fourth placing in the first division in their debut year in the premier competition. It seems likely Millwall could play two matches against the All Whites in June and also the Auckland and Wellington representative teams. The Millwall manager, John Docherty, is keen on a trip Down Under to reward his players for their outstanding performances in winning last season’s second division championship and playing well in the first division.
