Overseas students
Sir, —Let us over-charge all “foreigners” for their right to enter and study in New Zealand to ensure that racism continues to flourish (without them), educational standards and research and development continue to decline (without their good energy), and Kiwis continue to “go under” economically and otherwise with their heads already firmly in the sand. Foreign students are a valued investment, but not for their tuition dollars. Please, let us charge them an appropriate fee in order to maintain that aspect of university life which is so rich.—Yours, etc.,
J. R. THOMSON. February 8, 1989.
