December that his replacement as Minister of Health would be the Minister of Housing and Conservation, Ms Clark.
Lobbying for her has been strongest among the 10 women members of the caucus, and women’s groups outside Parliament have also been lobbying for her to become New Zealand’s second woman Minister of Health — the first being Miss Mabel Howard from 1947-49.
