Tackle bruises pride
NZPA-PA Bristol A British rugby player, Mike Kenyon, was nursing his bruised pride yesterday after being tackled in the middle of a match by his wife. Angry Christine ran on to the pitch to give him an earful for playing — then returned 15 minutes later to dump the player’s bags and pet dog at his feet.
Finally Kenyon was sent off by the referee to patch things up. The marital clash came during the match between the Aretians and Bristol Saracens in Bristol.
The Aretians club’s secretary, Mr Paul Pritchard, said after the game: “I think his wife was upset he was playing at all. She stormed on and said, ‘Here’s your bloody dog and kit’ and went off.
