A fiction writer and a poet have each won an IBM (NZ), Ltd, writer’s award for 1988. They are Fiona Farrell-Poole, from Palmerston North, and David Eggleton, from Dunedin. Fiona Farrell-Poole is a fiction writer, poet and playwright. She was the recipient of the 1988 “Mobil-Dominion Sunday Times” Short Story Award and was second prizewinner in the American Express Short Story Award two years ago.
