The final meeting of the New Zealand Hockey Association is held in Christchurch. The association has wound up after 86 years, all of it based in Christchurch. Hockey is now administered nationally by the New Zealand Hockey Federation, based in Auckland. The federation came into existence last month after the amalgamation of the N.Z.H.A. and the N.Z. Women’s Hockey Association. Gathered here are David Coulter (at front), the last president of the N.Z.H.A. and the president of the new federation, and (clockwise from front) Don Hefford, Ray Ganda, Dot Copley (delegate from the Canterbury Hockey Association), Merle Hooper (delegate from the C.H.A.), Danae Goosman, executive-secretary of the N.Z.H.A., Bruce Penfold, the last chairman of the N.Z.H.A., Lloyd Haste, Graeme Cox; Ross Gillespie (obscured), and Bill Doak.
