Redevelopment wait
No action on the redevelopment of the Sign of the Kiwi will be taken until at least next March, the Christchurch City Council’s parks and recreation committee decided last evening. The committee received a management plan for the Sign of the Kiwi and surrounding Coronation Hill scenic reserve and will wait for public comment before al-
locating funds in the 198990 budget. Recommendations in the management plan include extending the tearooms, developing better tracks around the Sign of the Kiwi, better car-park-ing and vehicle access, resiting the public toilets and providing accommodation for the ranger and his family behind the Sign of the Kiwi.
