O’Flaherty executive director

PA Auckland A Palmerston North journalist, Brian O’Flaherty, has been appointed executive director of the New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association. He succeeds David Bradford, who resigned recently to take up a position with N.Z. Magic Millions. Mr O’Flaherty, a senior journalist with the “Evening Standard” in Palmerston North, is returning to the N.Z.T.B.A. fold. Twenty years ago he was editor of the association’s “Bulletin.” He won the position from a host of applicants over a broad career spectrum. Among his primary duties will be overseas marketing and promotion of the New Zealand thoroughbred, and administration of the association’s national activities.
