Taylor dethroned
NZPA-AFP London Steve Davis can now truly claim to have won every major title available in snooker after defeating Dennis Taylor, 10-7, in the final of the LEP Matchroom Championship at Southend. Davis, five times winner of the World Championship, had failed in two previous attempts to capture his own team tournament. But he put the record straight on Monday, coming from 5-3 behind to dethrone Taylor as master of the Matchroom.
