Three on heroin charges
PA Auckland Two New Zealanders and a Thai entered no pleas when they appeared in court yesterday, charged over an alleged heroin-importing conspiracy. Garry lan Clinton Harker, aged 37, unemployed, Kimberley Wendy Owen, aged 31, debt collector, both of the same Hillsborough address, and Phongsak Suwanakul, aged 33, unemployed, whose address was given as formerly of the Travelodge Hotel, Mangere, appeared before Judge Hall in the District Court at Auckland. All were charged with possessing heroin for supply between Sunday and Monday, importing heroin on Sunday and conspiring between August 1 and October 10 to supply heroin. Harker was also charged with conspiring between August 1 and October 9 to import the drug. Judge Hall remanded the three to October 26 and refused bail.
Owen will apply to the High Court for bail.
