Strong squad
The 1988 Canterbury senior road running champions, Chris Tobin and Mary O’Connor, will lead a strong Canterbury squad in the national road championships in Blenheim on October 8. The selectors, Messrs D. Thomas and N. Reid and Miss A. Kennedy, announced the following squad — Men: D. Greig, D. Macdonald, T. Birnie, P. Schuyt, K. O’Sullivan, G. McEwen, C. Cox, M. Truscott, R. Schuddeboom, G. Searle, C. Tobin, R. McTaggart, W. Sheddan, I. Faulkner, B. Goodall, I. Lauder, L. Fraser. Women: M. O’Connor, C. Bardsley, M. Komatsu, D. Lauder. Junior men: P. Washbourne, R. Stone, F. Watson, M. Reid, G. Bell, L. Dew. Junior women: I. McDonnell, K. Ferguson, S. McMurray, P. Depree. Veteran men: S. Pavett, D. McMillan, p. Cameron, S. Opie. Veteran women: J. Miles. Veteran walker: Dave Cameron.
