Carriers’ talks adjourn
Talks for the national road carriers’ award have adjourned and workers in the Canterbury area will meet this week for discussions. The secretary of the Canterbury and Westland
Drivers’ Union, Mr Don Cunninghame, said the national drivers’ award was split three ways last year, into road carriers, ancilliary drivers and contractors. . ....
The union is claiming a 7 per cent pay rise for road carriers, with other conditions such as insurance. The talks are expected to resume on October 10.
