Sir,—How can William Leamon (September 13) even consider putting Steinlager I against Dennis Conner’s “cat?” The “cat” was designed for the Cup defence. Steinlager I was designed as an open-sea racer, with accommodation and other facilities. If Dennis Conner decides to use a “cat” again, New Zealand should come up with one to match it. The Americans always seem to be changing the rules to suit themselves, and if they are taught not to “cheat” by a court judge, so be it.
