Food wait complaint
PA Seoul The New Zealand Olympic team has lodged an official complaint with athletes village dining room caterers over lengthy waits for meals to be served. The New Zealand team manager, Bruce Ullrich, said yesterday it was not unusual for competitors to have to wait 30 minutes for a meal. “It’s not good enough.” The shooting manager, Graeme Smith, said he waited until 11 p.m. before dining on Monday evening. “Even then I had to wait half an hour before I was served,” Mr Smith said. Mr Ullrich was particularly concerned about breakfast dining room congestion before the opening ceremony on Saturday morning. There was nothing wrong with the quality of the food, he said. “They’ve got more food bays. They should open them up.”
