Sir John Marshall
Sir, —Among the fine tributes paid to the late Sir John Marshall by Parliamentarians reported in “The Press” I did not see one mention made of his Christianity, yet so many of his qualities — patience, wisdom, calm, restraint, dignity, lack of ruthlessness, courage, determination, tenacity and tolerance — were the kind of qualities displayed by Christ himself. Whatever confusions there may be nowadays between scientific and spiritual matters, I believe that the essential truths of the Bible are as relevant as ever. The greatest proof of Christianity is in the living of a Christian life and of that Sir John Marshall was a shining example. — Yours, etc.,
P. B. WYE. September 7,1988.
