Swimmers perform well
Canterbury swimmers performed creditably at the New Zealand synchronised swimming championships held at the Huia Pool in Lower Hutt recently. Janine Marriott won the gold medal in the open solo with 130.67 points. She also won the gold medal for the girls’ 15, 16 and 17 years solo with 123.650 points. In both
events her Canterbury teammate, Luan Fraser, won the bronze medal with scores of 120.30 in the open event, and 116.317 in the 15, 16 and 17 years age group. Karen Day and Fraser won the silver medal in the open duet with 114.905 points and Louise Cherrie won the silver medal in the 13 and 14 years solo with 111.10 points.
