League thrashing
PA Hamilton The touring Australian Juniors rugby league team yesterday thrashed the Waikato under 19s, 68-0, at Davies Park, Huntly, in the only match between their two “tests” against the Junior Kiwis. Waikato, which had reached the final of its national tournament at Palmerston North less than a fortnight before, had been expected to provide more opposition, but was overwhelmed as the young Australians gained their fourth victory in as many matches in New Zealand.
