Food plant jobs go
Nineteen workers at Universal Foods, Washbournes Road, Sockburn, have lost their jobs. Universal Foods is part owned by Country Traders, which went into receivership recently. Workers were told yesterday. The Universal Foods plant manager, Mr Cliff Bellaney, said he expected workers would receive some severance and holiday pay.
