Family to continue search
PA Whangarei A search for two missing Whangarei fishermenwill be continued this week by relatives. Family and friends of Barry Halvorson, aged 23, of Oakleigh and Trevor Ross, aged 50, of Kamo, will return to Hen and Chicken Islands area even though the official search ended yesterday. The men were last seen in their boat near the islands on July 3. They were due back in Whangarei on Tuesday. An Air Force Orion aircraft was used to search a 250-mile area off Whangarei on Sunday after an earlier search in the Bay of Islands on Friday. Mr Halvorson’s brother-in-law, Mr Alan Chaplin, said yesterday friends and relatives would continue searching.
