Aust, foremost in Royal plans

London correspondent While on holiday this month, the Royal Family will be contemplating their travels for the year, with Australia uppermost in their minds. Australia will have three Royal visits this year, as the family helps celebrate the Australian bicentennial. The Prince and Princess of Wales will fly to Australia at the end of this month, followed by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh in late April, and the Duke and Duchess of York later in the year.

While there have been rumours of associated Royal visits to New Zealand, Buckingham Palace said that there were no plans for the Queen or any member of her immediate family to tour New Zealand this year. The Yorks are also scheduled to make what is certain to be a highlypublicised visit to Los Angeles and Hollywood in February, followed by the Prince of Wales, who has agreed to address an architectural conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in March.
