Boost for Button trust
PA Wellington The Life Flight Trust received a boost when two Paramata pilots gave their services in conducting scenic flights over Wellington in a refurbished De Havilland Dove. Brian Davison and Richard Joel ran 10 25minute flights in the nineseater, carrying more than 80 passengers at $25 a head. Some passengers also gave to the trust. Use of the former Air Force navigation trainer was given by its Palmerston North owners, Mr and Mrs Andy Nicholson. The fuel was a gift, leaving the trust to pay other running costs before making a handy profit The trust was set up after the death of Peter Button to raise funds to buy and maintain a rescue helicopter in the Wellington area. So far it has raised more than $200,000.
“We knew Peter and this was deemed something worth while doing,” Mr Joel said.
