Karpov wins chess
NZPA-Reuter The Hague The former world chess champion, Anatoly Karpov, yesterday won the 13-round Hoogovens chess tournament in the Netherlands when he beat Sweden’s Ulf Andersson. Karpov collected the 8U56250 (SNZ939I) prize after defeating Andersson by nine points to 8.5 points in the 18-day round robin tournament at Wijk-aan-Zee.
