Guide head visits Christchurch

The chief commissioner of the New Zealand Girl Guides Association, Mrs Joye Evans, made an official visit to Christchurch during the weekend. Mrs Evans, of Palmerston North, attended the Canterbury Brownie Revels at Lincoln College on Saturday. About 2000 brownies took part in a day of activities. She also visited the “Pippin Pic-

nic” at the Cracroft Guide Centre. Mrs Evans presented guide and ranger awards at the Youth Centre yesterday morning, and in the afternoon attended a service in Christchuirch Cathedral. Two assistant commissioners, Mrs Annette Gilbert and Mrs Joyce Fraser, accompan ed Mrs Evans during the weekend.
