Tube in twin’s chest
NZPA-Reuter .Baltimore Surgeons have inserted a feeding tube through the chest of one of the West German Siamese twins separated 17 days ago, a hospital spokesman said on Wednesday.
A catheter was inserted into a vein in Benjamin Binder’s chest to help supplement his nutritional needs, said the spokesman at Johns Hopkins Medical Centre. In addition, his
head wound was cleaned during the four-hour operation on Tuesday night. Benjamin and Patrick Binder, seven-month-old twins from Ulm, West Germany, have been listed in critical but stable condition since they were separated on September 6 in a 22-hour operation. They had been born joined at the back of the head.
