Spurs humbled
NZPA-Reuter London Fourth division Torquay, which was within seconds of losing its English soccer league place at the end of last season, stunningly beat first division Tottenham Hotspur, 1-0, on Wednesday night. Torquay, which scored a late goal in its final 1986-87 match to stay in division four, toppled Tottenham in a Home League
Cup second round first-leg game. Liverpool, beaten finalist last season, was surprisingly held 1-1 in its first-leg clash at second division Blackburn and first division Chelsea was jolted by two goals from second division Reading in the first 10 minutes and lost 3-1.
