Riccarton profit a record
The Riccarton Turf Club has posted a record profit of just over $21,000 for the 1986-87 season. The club was able to increase stakes by just over $13,000 for their annual meeting and were rewarded with a profit of a similar amount on raceday, with much of the balance of the surplus being made at the 12 trial meetings conducted during the season. The president, Mr Viv
Jack, pointed out that while trial meetings were a source of income to the club they required much time, effort and personal expense on the part of the committee and he thanked those who had contributed so much over the year. Mr Jack also thanked his secretary Mr Os Spiller and the staff at the Canterbury Jockey Club for their help and co-operation.
