Still no sign of Mr Ayres
A shoreline search of Lyttelton Harbour yesterday failed to find any trace of Mr Harry Ayres, aged 74. Mr Ayres, one of New Zealand’s most famous mountaineers, was last seen at Lyttelton on July 16.
The search was made by men aboard two vessels which stuck close to the shoreline of the inner and outer harbour.
