Coloured lights for Riccarton corners
The Riccarton Borough Council will consider Introducing coloured street lights on street corners to increase pedestrian and road safety. Cr Derek Anderson said such lights had already been introduced successfully in other boroughs. The council has given the go-ahead for a peace march on Saturday by the Riccarton Peace Group.
The council decided that as the group did not have permission from the mall to assemble in the Riccarton Mall car-park, it should start in the grounds of Riccarton House.
The council also directed that organisers provide 20 marshals to ensure the march proceeded with minimal disruption to traffic.
