Negotiations unsuccessful

Negotiations by North Island interests for the purchase of the successful Meadow Skipper stallion, Plat du Jour, have been unsuccessful and the horse will continue to stand at Sam Ballantyne’s Eastwood Lodge Stud at Prebbleton.

Plat du Jour, which is rising 11 years, has sired the winners of 41 races in New Zealand, including the holders of 10 New Zealand records. The sire of the 1:57.78 miler, Gina Rosa, Plat du Jour was represented by other fine performers this season in Rostriever Hanover and Maitre, as well as the record-break-ing three-year-old trotter, Bellam.

Plat du Jour’s new season fee is to remain at $l5OO.
