Air pollution
Sir,—The United Council says that last winter’s smog was bad. However, new homes cannot have open fires, so they have decreased. On the other hand, cars and trucks have increased by 100 per cent in the last few years. The council talks of clean, cheaper electricity. No way can we heat the hot water and lounge cheaper than with a wet-back fire. Now the council talks about a ban for half the winter. That is not for me. Can I be told for sure, that ripple control will not be used? — Yours, etc., R. SAXON. June 17, 1987.
